Review of This Girl's Life (2004) by Maura R — 16 May 2009
The subject matter is, of course, provocative enough to draw you in and Marquis shows some acting chops (what happened to her?), but inevitably I don't think the writer was entirely sure what the film is about.
On one hand, it seems to be making a study in feminism and on the other something to do with Parkinson's. In the special features, Rosario Dawson says something to the effect of "I love porn, but I wish it was sometimes told from a woman's point of view".
Fair enough, but such a point or any point for that matter is hard to scrape from the surface.
