Love it, love it, love it. Yes, THIS FILM IS NOT YET RATED contains flaws (e.g., focusing on the P.I.'s personal life is completely unnecessary). But the documentary is perfect for closing out the semester of an Introduction to Film course.
It explores Hollywood's unhealthy fear of sex (and acceptance of violence) as well as cinema's history of censorship. It also shows students that America's film industry is still almost completely vertically integrated even though the Paramount Decision, a court case of which my students are QUITE aware, suggests otherwise.
