Review of This Film Is Not Yet Rated (2006) by Travis T — 30 Apr 2010
Some valid points made about MPAA rating, especially as it pertains to the composition of the ratings panel, the secrecy of the panel, and the seeming refusal by the panel to treat violence the same way as sexual material.
However, the bulk of the movie seems to be a diatribe against rating of any kind (no real alternative is proposed) and ranting claims of institutional homophobia. In the end, it sounds more like a whine than an expose.
Parental warning: although presented for humor and/or as examples of what is being discussed, there are scenes which rightly deserve the documentary's rating.
