Review of This Film Is Not Yet Rated (2006) by Ricardo A — 14 Oct 2011
This is one of the best documentaries I've seen in a long time. It's very entertaining and fun to watch and will make your jaw drop repeatedly in terms of how absurd the MPAA system is, how it came about, how biased it is, and how they outright lie about their procedures and reasoning.
It really makes you wonder how different and in many cases better some movies would be without it, how Director's Cuts don't have to be just a marketing ploy but a truer vision of a film, and also how the priorities are wildly skewed between sex and violence or the context of content.
I highly recommend it. It's streaming on Netflix right now and it's a quick 90 minutes. It also lead me to add a lot of the films discussed to my queue.
