Review of This Film Is Not Yet Rated (2006) by Guido S — 19 Jan 2014
A documentary about the way films are rated and how a lot of people feel they aren't consistent and there is no transparency. I agree that it seems at times to be a crap shoot as to what a film will be rated.
A lot of the directors interviewed sound like big crybabies at times since most of them got their film rated either after an appeal or making some cuts. It also follows a private detective who tries to uncover who is on the ratings board.
This was really interesting and could have been its own movie. It was fun and thrilling and a change of pace from the dryer interviews. Overall a good movie, it does the bare minimum of presenting all the ideas, but doesn't delve much into what an alternate system should be like or anything like that.
Good to see though.
