Review of Thirteen Days (2000) by Rockmary M — 20 Dec 2011
After the critical success of their first outing No way out, Kevin Costner and Roger Donaldson teamed again to create another suspenseful political thriller about the thirteen days where the americans and the russians were at the bring of WW3. In my opinion, the film succeeds tremendously for the fact that every viewer knows what happens in the end, but is still captivated by every frame delivered by Donaldson. JFK is a subject familiar to Kevin Costner, and even though the 1991 release was a masterpiece, this flick isn't really far out from being one. The cast did his job perfectly, especially Canadian unknown Bruce Greenwood portraying the late president and Dylan Baker as Minister of defense Robert McNamara. The suspense keeps mounting and mounting during every meeting you felt like you were actually there.
The greatest proof that one single decision can alter the fate of humanity.
