Review of Thirteen (2003) by Stephanie L — 12 Oct 2009
Intense, gritty, and painfully genuine. It should be required viewing for anyone working as a teacher or youth counselor of any kind. It shows the subtle transformation of Tracy, who goes from a rule-abiding but troubled honor student to a promiscuous, drug-addicted, petty criminal within the course of a school year at the tender age of 13.
Anyone thinking this couldn't happen to their kid needs to pop this in and discuss it.
