Review of Thirteen (2003) by Anthony C — 02 Jan 2010
A brutally realistic drama about how easily a teen can turn 'bad.' Great performances all around; Holly Hunter, as always, is magnificent. Not an easy movie to stomach, but that's the point, and it's never gratuitous.
Not a cheap indictment, but a sympathetic portrayal of struggles of suburban teens, single parents, addictive personalities, etc.
