Review of Thirteen (2003) by Khassie V — 11 Jan 2012
A girl at my school recommended this movie to me and I could see why by the time I finished the movie. So go see it NOW! This movie really shows how much peer pressure and the forever moving ladder of climbing to the top of the popular scene can effect teens.
Evan Rachel Wood is seen as an normal person with a bad fashion sense because her mom who is barely making ends work buys her clothing on the clirence rack. Then she meets Holly Hunter who is a popular kid and she gets mixed up with her and Holly introduces her to the scene of drugs, sex, and petty crimes.
The transformation between the characters at the beginning and the end is upon the best i've seen in a movie for quite sometime. The acting is great and the story was well written. It also shows how drugs and doing stupid things can ruin your life.
Brilliant film.
