Review of Thirteen (2003) by Alliy N — 04 Aug 2012
This was a pretty good movie. While a lot of the movie seems crazy or out there, the point that the movie is trying to make smacks you across the face right away. Evan Rachel Wood brilliantly portrays a once innocent and loving girl who becomes friends with the most popular girl in school.
Every emotion that Evan Rachel Wood shows in this movie added to the emotional punch the viewer feels every time the character acts out from depression or anger. Nikki Reed does a good job as well but the movie was doing the right thing by having it built around the strong performance by Evan Rachel Wood.
While there are some notable flaws here and there, they don't take away from the place that the director wants you to go. Definitely worth it to watch.
