Review of Thirteen (1974) by James G — 20 Feb 2009
I think I see where the inspiration for Skins came from.
This is a very good film that is simply about growing up (quite possibly a little too soon). Holly Hunter's damaged mother is very good, and our two main characters (played by Evab Rachel Wood and co-writer Nikki Reed) also give fantastic performances considering their age and experiance at the time of making this film.
