Review of Thinner (1996) by Christopher S — 26 Oct 2011

I am well aware of the 17% rating on this film, but I did see it when it came out in theatres in 1996. And back then I did not think it was horrible, but at the time I was 13 years old so what did I know.

Now, I believe my taste palate for movies has evolved and thought this movie deserved a second-look (a fresh point of view) when it came out on AMC HD. And you know what? it still wasn't horrible, once you get past the first 5-10mins which are kind of weak, the suspense really takes off once the character starts to lose weight.

It's wrong to label this movie as "horror", I think a thriller would be more like it. Even though the ending could have been better I did not get bored or fast-forward (I have DVR) through any scenes.

I stand by 3 Star rating!
