Review of Think Like a Man Too (2014) by Orlando O — 21 Jun 2014
Think Like a Man Too may seem to be an unnecessary sequel to the hit fun predecessor with a hilarious cast. It had set a career path for Kevin Hart with his semi decent humor. This sequel is entertaining but with less laughs and a more annoying narration by Kevin Hart. In the end, this installment feels a little too focused on his character more than anyone else's which could have had some potential.
The story does bring back the original casts with their characters, this time taking place in Vegas for a wedding. Every couple seem to have their own fair of drama or conflict within each other and the concept continues with the battle of the sexes for what it seems to be if you can get by Kevin Hart's character from being the centered of the conflict.
It was nice to see the entire cast returning including Michael Ealy, Jerry Ferrara, Meagan Good, Regina Hall, Taraji P. Henson, Terrence J, Romany Malco, Gabrielle Union, and Kevin Hart.
The movie has its fair share of laughs, and Kevin Hart can be funny until he continues to go overboard to being annoying. It is not as fun like the predecessor or different with the battle of the sexes concept. Screenwriters David Newman and Keith Merryman may be lacking creativeness of taking the characters in a different direction. Director Tim Story seem to be pleased with giving Kevin Hart's character more screen time and most of the jokes always seem to revolve around him. It does not try anything new with the story, but it is a fair comedy film that is still funny and entertaining.
