Review of Things We Lost in the Fire (2007) by Rob S — 07 Aug 2008
THis really wasnt a bad movie. It's really emotionally engaging, and the acting is out of this world. There were like 4 scenes, thought, that really ruined this for me (one of them being the very first scene of the movie, which really threw me off).
There are these few scenes where the director tries to add in some poetic, intellectual content or whatever you want to call it, that arent at all integrated into the rest of the film. But it's bad.
Like straight out of Metaphors for Dummies bad. Flourescence? Come on. This is also one of those movies where the title is ripped verbatim from the dialogue, which pulls you right out of the most emotional scene in the movie.
