I actually thought this quite good and I wasn't expecting it to be. I wish Alison Lohman had a bigger part, but she was good as always. Del Toro was amazing and those kids were beyond cute. The whole ear thing was a nice detail that I think a film like this needed to make it believable and real.
Lots of humorous moments as well, and I liked the camera direction with the eyes.
