Review of Things We Lost in the Fire (2007) by Sofia Å — 12 Sep 2009
Quite nice about managing to live through enormous grief and addiction. It is not spectacular in any way but succeeds in maintaining the viewer's interest the whole time, mainly due to Barry and del Toro who both does exceedingly well.
Especially del Toro with his wadded up face portrays a very sympathetic character while Barry in some ways repeats her performance from Monster's Ball by being somewhat unstable through most of the movie.
Also, I find myself captured by Bier's extreme close ups at various body parts although there might be a few too many teary eyes.
