Review of Things We Lost in the Fire (2007) by Kareem Y — 31 Oct 2009
The performances are remarkably sincere, and Del Toro is amazing during a detox sequence. However, I was slightly put off by the camera work; half the movie is wasted on close-ups of people's eyes etc.
Also, Halle Berry's 'journey' kind of never happens, which is a shame, but she does the best with what she's given.
