Review of Things We Lost in the Fire (2007) by Private U — 08 Aug 2008
Del Toro was fantastic, as always. Halle Berry was good, but not quite great. The character relationships were genuinely interesting and the story is an interesting meditation on how we deal with tremendous loss, pain, and redemption.
There were times that I wish the writer had delved a little deeper into Jerry's psyche, however. Although he touches on deep subject matter, one just wishes he had delved a little deeper and this would have been a great movie.
Definitely worth seeing, however.
