Review of Thief (1981) by Carlton D — 01 Sep 2012
Great Flick. James Caan plays the role of Frank perfectly, giving him a flawed humanity that makes us feel for him, and his desire to rise up to the level of basic normalcy that many of us take for granted.
Robert Prosky is subtly fantastic as a mafia don that is a lot warmer and friendlier than we're used to seeing, but equally as dangerous as anything we've seen in classic gangster films. If you like Michael Mann and haven't seen this film, find a copy.
