Review of They Shoot Horses, Don't They? (1969) by Matthew P — 06 Nov 2007
What a rich character piece Sydney Pollack has made. It is about people who enter dance competitions during the Depression area as a form of making money. The competitions would go on for days, and the film examines the characters mental and physical exhaustion due to these competitions.
Such a great piece of story telling.
