Review of They Live by Night (1949) by Alexandre R — 01 Sep 2009
For some reason, I have a deep affection for films with couples-on-the-run. Maybe, I tend to romanticize the whole idea, oh not to mention the sultriness of Farley Granger. This film's melodramatic film noir at its best.
And I am kind of glad that the woman here is not the femme fatale who manipulates the hero to lead a life of crime and she's the only one who's saved in the ending.
