Review of They Live (1988) by Audrey V — 11 Oct 2009
I really love this movie! One of John Carpenters best! Great plot line about how the human race is being subliminally controlled by a shadow government of aliens. These aliens in turn are subjecting humankind to cognitive slavery! Many paralells of what I see going on in todays society although I dont see aliens enslaving us, but conspiratorally speaking some other kinds of shadow governments are pulling all the strings.
Anyway back to the point. Roddy piper is excellent in this movie as is keith david who plays one angry and stubborn blackman. Plus they have an excellent 5 minute long scene of kickng each others ass. There are many more explosions shootings, alien sightings and a mad rush to fight against the machine that oppresses. Great ending, acting, science fiction and direction!
This movie gets 4 out of 5 enchiladas!
