Review of They Live (1988) by David K — 20 Jun 2010
One of John Carpenter's best movies about aliens. It's not scary at all for people wanting to get some scares but the idea of aliens pretending to be our friends and coworkers and stealing most of our jobs is really brilliant.
The first 30 minutes is a bit draggy but Roddy Piper and Keith David make up for it. The action is good even though there isn't a lot. Most of the action is actually Roddy Piper and Keith David beating each other up in an alleyway and that scene was hardcore.
Also the ending was great, it really just came out of nowhere.
