Review of There's Always Tomorrow (1956) by Gareth D — 16 Apr 2017
A mature, if rather staid, depiction of mid-life crisis in an idyllic 50's American household. We deserved at least one extra shock of drama, perhaps from the wife whose innocence is the weak element of the film.
The feeling of being stifled and the husband's sense of dissatisfaction are not to be misinterpreted as ours. These are all Sirk's ingenius intention.
