Review of There Will Be Blood (2007) by Jeremy S — 16 Jul 2013
A modern masterpiece, it is one of those movies that people will remember thirty plus years from now. P.T. Anderson spearheads the film with some great direction and all, but this film would not be what it is were it not for the absolutely perfect performance by Daniel Day Lewis.
Paul Dano also turns in an unexpected great performance that very well should have gotten him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor (even though it would've been a loss to Bardem that year). This movie may be slow for some, but for those who love a good chilling story dripping with atmosphere it will be an absolute feast.
Had the ending been tweaked and given more resolve, this movie may have been Anderson's best.
