Review of There Will Be Blood (2007) by C.j. A — 02 Mar 2014
This modern masterpiece is poetic in its display of humanity, masterful in its understanding of cinematic language, brutal in its social commentary, impressive in its epic scope, mythic in its portrayal of father-son/father-brother/man-man titan clashes, and playful in its offering of those trademark Anderson touches - only one man in Hollywood could come up with such a bizarre, risky, and fitting ending.
.. Now tell me why does the other Anderson soak up all the indie buzz? "There Will Be Blood" is all-American, in the best and worst senses of the word, and is easily one of this country's most important films of the decade.
