Review of There Will Be Blood (2007) by David P — 19 Dec 2014
This is a movie that heavily leaned on its characters and acting, especially by the lead actor Day-Lewis. It succeeds. It's fascinating watching the lead character take control of everything, and when there's a hint of lost control, he takes it back with anger and vengeance (see ending).
There are moments when the character feels human with his son and brother, but all he has known is seeing the worst in people, and those relationships become bruised. Daniel Day-Lewis makes this his movie, and it's fascinating to see.
