Review of There Will Be Blood (2007) by Yash B — 05 Jan 2015
This film truly left me deep in thought. Its not a movie one can just casually watch, but requires the undivided attention of the viewer. I like this film due to its originality and Daniel Day Lewis' fantastic performance.
He is such a malicious and terrible human being and you enjoy his portrayal completely. There is one scene towards the last act which in which the dialogue is just stunning. While Day-Lewis is great in the film, this film is definitely slow at times.
However, I believe that there are two types of slow when it comes to movies. There is a type of slow where the viewer is unengaged and bored while the other type of slow is nothing happening but the viewer is in fascination.
This film contains both types of slow and it makes it difficult to review it. Overall, I don't think it is for everyone, but if you're a fan of a great performance, I'd go ahead and watch it.
