Review of There Will Be Blood (2007) by Tanner B — 31 Aug 2015
-IGNORE THIS "OUT OF FIVE" RATING.
4/4.
Powerful film about an oil man Daniel Day-Lewis taking control of an "ocean" of oil under a community in the 20th century. His relationship with a preacher shows how reprehensible he really is, but the preacher could be just as bad. Day-Lewis steals every scene he's in with his unflinching presence, a ticking time bomb ready to go off at any second. Sweat-inducing, fascinating, and riveting. Day-Lewis Won a well deserved Oscar as did cinematographer Robert Elswit.
