He's a real jerk! Ambition (read:greed) takes on many ugly forms. I get it, a condemnation of American capitalism and religion. A case of throwing the baby out with the bath water if you ask me. And a movie I respect more than enjoy. Haven't seen it a second time because it's just a storyteller taking a dump on something, no redemption and ultimately no real lesson either.

Meanwhile, Boogie Nights and especially Magnolia are two of my favorite films. PTA's most heralded and least-watchable movie. Oozes only pessimism.
