Review of There Will Be Blood (2007) by Dave F — 20 Jan 2013
The best film of 2007! Paul Thomas Anderson has been aptly called the Orson Welles of his generation. There Will Be Blood does much to confirm such an assertion. Bringing to the screen a compelling, emotionally wrought tale of the rise of one big oil man in the Western United States.
An effective commentary of capitalism as salvation in American life. Day-Lewis gives us one of the greatest performances ever put on film. There are countless unforgettable scenes, but "I drink your milkshake!" will endure above all else.
Dano provides high quality support in dual roles.
