Review of There Will Be Blood (2007) by Xgary X — 24 Apr 2013
Paul Thomas Anderson has crafted something akin to Citizen Kane with There Will Be Blood: a spiraling epic that is equal parts fable preaching the horrors of greed and ambition and a vision of the American Dream done nightmarishly right.
The central conflict between the terrifyingly wrathful Day-Lewis and the self righteous Dano is so captivating that one cannot look away from either of their myth making performances. Everything in this film works to elevate it into a pantheon of films that represent a higher quality of an entire medium of storytelling.
