Review of There Will Be Blood (2007) by Matt G — 20 Jun 2013
Hands down the greatset American Film ever made, forget it Citizen Kane, There Will Be Blood will be taking your place. Paul Thomas Anderson has crafted an unforgettable tale of greed, corruption, and human spirit.
Daniel Day-Lewis gives by far the greatest performance I have ever seen, putting his heart and soul into every second he is in. Completley transforming himself into the character. The film is shot in such beautiful scope by Robert Elswit, I never imagined the burning of an oil derrick could be so beautiful and enthralling on so many levels.
The film is such an epic American drama, and we all owe thanks to Paul Thomas Anderson for giving us a film that is beautiful and epic on so many levels. This is the kind of film that you will always remember with the last breath in your body.
It is so haunting on so many levels. With a score by Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood that can take your breath away and keep your blood pumping. This film is a heart racing expierence, and reminds you of why we love movies in the first place.
