Review of There Will Be Blood (2007) by Sam D — 11 Apr 2014
One of the greatest movies of all time. Definitely not "enjoyable" in the strictest sense, but it is intoxicatingly brilliant. It's Dark, gritty, bloody, bleak, sombre and claustrophobic, but I defy anyone who attempts to deny it's genius.
Anderson's superb direction, coupled with the award worthy performances of Daniel Day Lewis and Paul Dano, make this piece one of the greatest american films in many a year, and the magnificently haunting soundtrack by Johnny Greenwood round this off to be an out and out masterpiece.
