Review of There Will Be Blood (2007) by Danny O — 23 Apr 2015
There Will Be Blood is an interesting and unique film. The performances are top notch, with another outstanding performance from Daniel Day Lewis. The directing and cinematography are very impressive. The story is different and well executed, the most memorable sequences involve Lewis.
This movie is however, a character study of a man looking to profit from any oil drilling work he can find. He's a dishonest man, but his turn at the end of the film might be a bit of a stretch. The movie also did not need to be so long, there are uninteresting and unnecessary scenes throughout.
This is a very well written and acted movie, though not rewatchable. There Will Be Blood gets 4/5 stars (A-).
