Review of There Will Be Blood (2007) by Sean K — 02 Nov 2012
A movie that requires and demands your absolute submission to it's power, There Will Be Blood is P.T. Anderson's most compelling film to date. The film is and odd journey in which many will find themselves captivated by the towering performances abound, especially the rugged capitalist Daniel Plainview played extraordinarily by non other than Oscar bug Daniel Day Lewis.
Each image is precise, each stinging chord is a raw melancholy of cold feelings, each step forward feels like a landmark one in cinema, There Will Be Blood is, and will remain for some time, the greatest film I have ever witnessed. A powerful, rugged, maddening film full of great performances with a strong hand guiding the unique story. A stunning masterpiece and one of the most ambitious films of our times. Well done P.T. !
