Review of There Be Dragons (2011) by Mercedes R — 10 May 2011
It is really difficult to narrate the life of a saint for a secular audience. Mr. Joffe was able to do it without falling into sentimentalism. Very interesting to view the first days of the Opus Dei during the Spanish Civil war, which prosecuted and killed many priests and religious on the region.
Also very good narrative of Manolo, and his choices and those of who considered him a friend. And how [Joffe] depicts everybody's lives interlinked and not isolated.
