Review of Then She Found Me (2007) by Shaoann Y — 04 Nov 2008
I actually liked this movie. It was interesting to see how the main character (April) handled her ex who promised to always be there, but couldn't, because he has yet to grow up. I enjoyed watching how one might go about building a broken relationship with the one person who should have unconditionally loved them and been there, but wasn't. I could empathize with her longing for that something that shouldn't be so difficult, yet seems to not be her lot (and not understanding why). Then if all that wasn't enough, to meet a wonderful man and struggle to admit that he is what she needs (because she's wrestling with letting go of the things she's defined herself by all her life...hopes, desires, and even fears).
This movie was a very encouraging movie for me. Although I was disappointed in an unexcusably poor choice she made, but it was sobering, because even those who have a gang of positives are not above missing the mark...and screwing up royally. It was interesting to see how they worked through it, because that situation (and the possible repercussions from such actions) is probably my second biggest fear....or should I say......WAS. :o).
