Review of Then She Found Me (2007) by Satu S — 14 Nov 2008

Helen Hunt, Matthew Broderick, Colin Firth, Bette Midler.. This movie is packed with good actors. The story of the movie is simple: Helen Hunt's biological clock is ticking like there's no tomorrow but she's already close to forty and her husband just left her.

So this movie centers on a woman's need to become a mother, surviving midlife crisis and dealing with a complicated mother-daughter relationship, not to mention a love triangle. One could say that those sound like the ingredients of a chick flick but I see deeper meaning in this drama.

To me, this movie tells a simple, beautiful story without any hollywood sugar coating. Besides, Bette Midler rocks as Helen Hunt's mother!!
