Review of Then She Found Me (2007) by Kim D — 07 Dec 2008
Just watched this on DVD and I think it's an intelligent movie, covering issues of betrayal, trust, adoptive issues, with a range of emotions in each character. The emotional responses and internal feelings portrayed by each character is often conflicting, sometimes harsh, but it is true to life.
The interviews in the Special Features sections each add more dimension to the movie also. Each actor speaks about their contribution to their character and the movie as a whole. I really like Midler, Hunt and Firth.
Haven't seen Matthew Broderick in ages due to his devotion to Broadway, and he added another character I have seen in life - one who doesn't know himself, and goes about life like a leaf in the wind, never taking a stand, never one to be able to truly count on.
All characters are bruised and broken along paths that adults live, and I love how this movie sensitively and intelligently weaves the story around them.
