Review of Thelma & Louise (1991) by Amit P — 04 Mar 2010
A perfect feminist movie... An unusual storyline, a lot of surprise elements, Some may find the end sequence a bit unrealistic, but its actually a symbolic one... infact I found symbolism peeping throughout the film, emphasizing on feminism, sumtyms it also does go straight in ur face and talk about it... the screenplay of this film is a masterpiece, sort of a study material... no doubt it bagged best original screenplay award at the oscars in 91... Another thing in the film are da characters, Susanne Sarandon and Geena Davis hv made their characters so lively that u'll fall in love wid em... the film is a kinda road movie which puts forth south america's desert area, the Grand canyon, tex-mex landscapes... Hans Zimmer scores the film in a very different way, very different from what we hear from Zimmer these days, it incorporates country music sounds, the harmonica, the saxo, the grunge guitar, acoustic guitars n stuff...
A must watch for feminists... Male chauvinists can watch it too, to learn a lesson or two :):D.
