Review of Thelma & Louise (1991) by Siriporn P — 28 Feb 2012
A cult classic. I watched it in Uni last week. The only female 'buddy movie' I have seen to do so well. It has a perfect mix of comedy and violence. I love how Thelma and Louise start to switch roles as the movie progresses.
they end up both being such strong female characters, with a beautiful friendship. it's got bits of 'Badlands' and 'Natural born killers' but without much of a typical male criminal, it blasts originality.
It's probably any easy film to dismiss if you're not paying attention the whole way through (because you only care about the ending) I forgot the ending whileI was watching because I was so transfixed by the character's and their journey.
It's so well written and so witty, especially Thelma's scenes like when she had to rob the bank and mimicked the actions of Brad Pitt's character. Although there are a few male bit parts, I love that this doesn't draw away from the women and Thelma's husband is so funny.
(Sir, you're standing on your pizza) Well directed badassary and brilliant acting.
