Review of Their Purple Moment (1928) by Mike M — 27 Aug 2011
The fun comes in dispatches - business with teaspoons, gossipy harridans, a midget floor show and a couple of stray dessert options - and there's something semi-radical in the way plot development is left to play out on Stan's face as his companions' expenditure increases by the minute; the central thrust, though, feels antiquated, where the stars' best work remains unmistakably alive.
