Review of The Zero Theorem (2013) by Maryann F — 12 Jul 2014
Too much CG... Too much purposeful vagueness... a seemingly utter lack of miles upon miles of meaningless ductwork! The Dystopia in The Zero Theorem isn't the same Dystopia experienced in Brazil and 12 Monkeys.
To consider this the final masterpiece of The Orwellian Triptych is just an insult to the previous works. At least The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus had SOME structure while this? This is just the ever deepening mental breakdown of a rich guy with mental health issues.
(He must be rich to live in such a place and not have to leave the house for years at a time. Regardless of the pay he gets for his work.) A jumbled mess that even true fans of Terry Gilliam will walk away from thinking "What a WASTE!".
