Review of The Zero Theorem (2013) by Sausages M — 29 Nov 2014
Maybe we should give up on Terry Gilliam. Or maybe everyone else has and I'm the only one still giving him a chance (apart from producers on a quixotic journey)? When were his movies actually good (after Python)? If I went back and watched Brazil, would I still like it? What about Twelve Monkeys? Any others? Because, for sure, Zero Theorem is not only a mess (perhaps a trademark of Gilliam's over-active imagination or perhaps just a warning sign of his failure to focus) but it is boring as hell.
Perhaps there were one or two ideas about what the future might look like that we haven't really "seen" before (only heard about). I was embarrassed for Christoph Waltz and Matt Damon was merely briefly embarrassing.
I could go on - but I won't.
