I watched this film on Saturday night, and I have to say I enjoyed it more than I expected. While the Young Victoria might be described as a period drama it wasn't stuffy at all and was really rather watcheable throughout.
The performances were great from all involved, especially Mark Strong and Jim Broadbent. It was one of those films that the British do so very well and for that the people involved should be proud of themselves.
I don't have many complaints about the Young Victoria, I thought it went on for just the right amount of time, dealt with a small enough period of history so that you didnt have to look at old actors pretending to be young and there was no nonsense throughout.
Would really recommend this film to anyone and in fact I think I recommended it to my Dad right after watching it. 4 Solid Stars for this film. More of the same please.
