Review of The Young Offenders (2016) by David C — 24 Jan 2017
This Irish chase-comedy follows two madcap teenagers aiming to seize a substantial amount of cocaine from a shipwreck off the S.W coast of Ireland. With a fun, unlawful and reckless premise, the film's two central characters are excellent reflections of this and are the crux and energy of the film.
There's some laugh-out scenes and even moments of tenderness, but it doesn't quite have the legs to draw out a narrative that is, both wholly original and believable in direction and actions.
