Review of The Young Messiah (2016) by Jody E — 12 Mar 2016
Very well-done, high production value, a good story well-written. A difficult chore as the Bible says practically nothing about this time period in Jesus' life so much is speculated, but the writer did a good job keeping this Jesus consistent with what the Bible says about Him, both before and after this time in his life.
Well acted, well directed, believable. Kids and parents have reacted strongly in connecting with this Jesus, the God-Man (or in this case, the God-Boy), which is no small feat.
It's a rare quality film that does not mock Biblical truths, rather embracing them and causing the viewer to ask themselves, "Who was this Jesus?".
Definitely worth seeing. With your kids. (9 and up, I'd say.).
