Review of The Young Messiah (2016) by Ed M — 13 Mar 2016
While not completely scriptural, the movie did provide a what is inside into the young life of our savior. There was one scene where Jesus was speaking with the elders. it did show historically the constant harassment by Rome through the use of centurions and soldiers who would ride through the villages and if they believed someone was a protest against the Roman occupation, then they would crucify the Jewish settler.
I didn't feel comfortable with the protrayal that a young Jesus was performing miracles by bringing animals and people back to life. this dismisses the reference in Scripture where Jesus is first miracle was turning water into wine at a wedding.
the producers of the movie did indicate at the beginning of the film that this was one year in the life of a young Jesus but for the most part it was fictional while threading into the plot some elements that has been recorded in Scripture as being more accurate.
I do recommend reviewing the movie and making your own conclusions because the movie was entertaining and I never expect Hollywood to be theologically correct in any movie dealing with something that is in Scripture.
