Review of The Yes Men Fix the World (2009) by Steve S — 11 Jun 2010
While I enjoyed the first "Yes Men" documentary, this new entry fell a little flat. Yes, it's funny, but in the current Hollywood landscape of so many other prankster-style films, the Yes Men can't really compare with "Bruno" or "Borat.
" They just aren't polished enough, and they're too well-meaning. Once they get caught, they squirm, and they don't know how to answer tough questions about why they do what they do. Funny stuff? Yes.
But check out their first film, as it feels more genuine, truly the story of a couple of guys who just want to make a mockery of corporate PR. "The Yes Men Fix the World" tries just a little too hard, though, and fails as a result.
